His Excellency Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, participated in the press conference held by the ministerial committee charged with the joint Arab Islamic Summit on Gaza, in the Jordanian capital, Amman today.
The press conference was attended by His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Excellency Mr. Ayman Al -Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, His Excellency Dr. Badr Abdel -Ati, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Affairs of Egyptians abroad in the Arab Republic of Egypt, and His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary -General of the League of Arab States.
His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs in his intervention at the press conference pointed to the centrality of the Bahrain Declaration issued by the thirty -third Arab Summit held headed by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the king of the country, may God protect and preserve him. He said that it was not just a declaration.
He said that the Palestine Summit held in Cairo headed by a joint presidency by His Majesty the Great King and His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El -Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, approved a comprehensive plan for reconstruction, and the Bahrain Summit was also emphasized that the Palestine Liberation Organization is the only legitimate representative of the Palestinian people, and the call for the deployment of international peace forces in Gaza may be under the auspices of the United Nations or the countries wishing.
The Foreign Minister expressed thanks to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the French Republic for their initiative to hold an international peace conference in New York this month, noting that the Arab leaders at the Bahrain Summit extended the foreign ministers to intensify diplomatic efforts to increase the number of confessional countries in the State of Palestine and obtain full membership in the United Nations. He also praised the formation of the international coalition to implement a two -state solution at the initiative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom of Norway and the European Union.
The Foreign Minister indicated that His Excellency President Donald Trump, President of the United States of America, stressed the need to achieve peace in the region, and thus we have gained a reliable partner adding to the humanitarian efforts aimed at achieving peace.
He said that the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the guidance of His Majesty the Great King, will continue during its mandate in the next two years of the Security Council to support efforts to recognize the State of Palestine and its full membership in the United Nations.
