Responsible sources at the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation denied what was circulated on social media about changing the name of the stray street dog and the stray cats of the street into the free Egyptian street animals.

The sources confirmed in exclusive statements to Cairo 24, that these news is unfounded, noting that the ministry has not issued any decisions or directives in this regard.
The sources stressed the commitment of the Ministry of Agriculture to protect all animals, including street animals, through extensive and continuous efforts.
She explained: The Ministry is working to implement programs for immunization and health care for these animals, in addition to studying ways to control their numbers in humanitarian and scientific ways, in cooperation with civil society organizations and assisting bodies to ensure a safe and healthy environment for both animals and humans.
The sources pointed out that these efforts aim to achieve the environmental balance and preserve the biological diversity in Egypt.
