The US Department of Justice announced that a federal jury condemned a 35 -year -old man from southern Florida after impersonating an air host in order to obtain free flights exceeding 120 flights.
Fraud details
Terron Alexander was convicted on June 5 on electronic fraud charges and illegal entry into safe areas of airports. The Public Prosecution stated that it took advantage of a reservation system for airlines, and used it to climb to at least 34 flights without payment between 2018 and 2024.
Providing fake information
Evidence revealed that Alexander visited information through the staff flight reservation system, and claimed that he was working as an air host with seven different airlines, providing about 30 badge number and fake appointment date.
Expanding the scope of deception
It also turned out that he had impersonated an air host in three additional airlines, which increased the scope of fraud and raised security concerns about the ease of circumventing the internal systems of airlines.
The expected punishment
The sentence is scheduled to be issued on August 25, and Alexander may face a prison sentence of up to 30 years in the federal prison.
Comment from the Transport Security Department
The Transport Security Department (TSA) confirmed that the accused underwent all the security measures in force, including identity and physical inspection, and did not pose a real threat to travelers. She added that this ruling represents the result of close cooperation between the Ministry of Justice and the security authorities.
Responsible for the case
American Prosecutor Hydeen Opere and Marshal Antonio Betmann announced the condemnation. The case is responsible for three federal years: Michael Shepherd, Zakari Keeler, and Andres Xinchilla.
