A new study of the European Food Safety Authority revealed great benefits for one of the types of nuts on cardiovascular health.
According to the study published by the authority, the nut is a friend of the heart, as eating a handful of it daily helps prevent heart attacks and strokes.
She explained that the nuts contributes to improving the elasticity of blood vessels, which allows blood flow without obstacles, and thus the risk of cardiovascular disease decreases, noting that this effect can be achieved by eating 30 grams of nuts per day, which is equivalent to almost a handful.
The study indicated that the nuts contain unsaturated fatty acids, which contribute to maintaining the levels of cholesterol in the blood.
Another health benefits of walnuts are that it contains vitamin “i.e.” and “polyphenols”, and as strong antioxidants, they protect the body tissues from harmful substances or the so -called “free radicals”, which attack the cells of the body and accelerate aging.
According to the study published by the newspaper “Hespress”, quoting the European Food Safety Authority, nuts are also rich in dietary fiber important for the digestive system, and it is also a good source of iron, potassium, calcium and folic acid.
