Dr. Hassan Al -Numani, President of Sohag University, announced that, according to the classification of international universities CWUR for the year 2025, the university came among the best 8.4% in the world, and ranked 1790 globally, ahead of 24 centers from the previous year, and 26 centers advanced in the classification of scientific research, and ranked 1716, and the university also ranked an advanced position at the African and local level, so it came in the center 52 Africa and 18 locally.

Al -Numani added that this progress in the university classification is added to the series of successes achieved by the university in international rankings, and reflects its strategic vision and its keenness to be among the best universities in the Middle East region and achieve international entitlement, praising the university’s scientific publishing center and the efforts made in studying mechanisms for improving the quality of education and scientific research and their application on the ground, which contributes to the university’s arrival to the ranks of international universities.

Dr. Amr Abdel Hamid, Director of the Center, explained that the CWUR classification is one of the most accurate and objective classifications in the world, as the classification only chooses the best 2000 universities out of 21.462 universities, based on 7 grouped indicators within four main axes, including: the quality of education (25%), and is measured based on academic success for university graduates; The ability to employ (25%), and is measured based on the prominent professional performance of these graduates in the labor market; The quality of the teaching staff (10%), and is measured by the number of faculty members who have the highest international academic privileges; Scientific research (40%), and is measured by 4 sub -elements: the total number of research papers (10%), the number of publications in high -quality scientific journals (10%), the research impact (10%), and the number of scientific certificates (10%).
