The Export Council for Engineering Industries announced that the engineering industries sector achieved remarkable growth in exports during the period from January to May 2025, as it increased by 17% compared to the same period in 2024, to record $ 2.6 billion compared to $ 2.3 billion.

May also witnessed a 12% increase in exports compared to May 2024, to reach 574 million dollars compared to $ 513 million in the same month last year, according to the monthly report issued by the Export Council for Engineering Industries.
Eng. Sherif Al -Sayyad, Chairman of the Export Council for Engineering Industries, said that the achieved increase reflects the success of the efforts made to enhance the competitiveness of Egyptian engineering products, especially in light of the continued global fluctuations.
He added in a statement, that the council continues to work to open new markets and implement plans to expand promising markets, in cooperation with the relevant government agencies, noting that the council aims to reach the total exports of the sector to about 7 billion dollars by the end of 2025.
Al -Sayyad stressed that there is a great focus on supporting small and medium companies to participate in international exhibitions and implement commercial missions in the targeted markets, pointing out that sectors such as cables, home appliances and electronics represent major engines for export growth during the coming period.
He explained that this growth in exports reflects a positive performance for many engineering sectors, as the most prominent sectors that achieved increases in their exports during the first five months of 2025 compared to the same period last year in the forefront of which are cables with a growth rate of 16%, car components by 6%, electrical and electronic industries by 32%, home appliances by 3%, and means of transportation by 34%, while exports of metal metal achieved a large jump rate Growth reached 254%.
He pointed out that this increase was driven by the expansion of Egyptian exports to a number of foreign markets in Europe, Asia and Africa, including the United Kingdom, Slovakia, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Czech, Hungary, in addition to the Emirates, Iraq, Azerbaijan, China, Jordan, and Lebanon, along with African countries such as Algeria, Tunisia, Nigeria, Kenya, Central Africa, Cote d’Ivoire, Tanzania, engineering exports recorded remarkable growth to the United States of America.
He stressed that these positive results reflect the continued efforts to support Egyptian exports and open new markets for engineering industries, in a way that contributes to enhancing the competitiveness of the Egyptian product at the international level.
