Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, held a meeting today to follow up the procedures for rationalizing electricity consumption in the government district of the new administrative capital, in the presence of Eng. Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Major General A.H. Mohamed Sayed, Vice -President of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces, Major General Ahmed Fahmy, Director General of the Administrative Capital for Urban Development Company, and a number of relevant officials.
Procedures to rationalize electricity consumption in the government district
The Prime Minister explained that this meeting comes with the aim of following up the procedures for rationalizing electricity consumption and the executive position of the solar energy cell project in the government district of the new administrative capital, stressing that improving the efficiency of electricity consumption must coincide with the operation of new and renewable energy production projects to reduce traditional fuel dependence.
In this context, the Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy stressed that the Holding Company was directed to Egypt’s electricity to start implementing an urgent action plan to rationalize energy consumption according to the requirements of the current situation and take the necessary measures to implement a plan to rationalize electricity consumption in all facilities affiliated with the sector, pointing out that the rates of electricity consumption can decrease with the help of the citizen himself in this to reduce dependence on traditional fuel, and noting that awareness of rationalizing consumption It is a shared responsibility for energy conservation and does not mean the inability to provide electricity.
The minister added: There is continuous coordination around the clock with the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources to secure electrical nutrition. There are also continuous efforts to enhance and operate new and renewable energy projects, including solar energy projects that aim to increase energy productivity from clean sources.
Counselor Mohamed Al -Homsani, the spokesperson for the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, stated that during the meeting, the Prime Minister reviewed a plan to rationalize electricity consumption in various buildings of ministries and bodies in the government district in the new administrative capital. Where the Minister of Electricity indicated that there are a number of guidance measures to rationalize electricity consumption in government buildings within a general plan of the Ministry to rationalize electricity consumption in general, and include the necessity of complete separation of electricity in all buildings after the end of the official working hours, and to replace the non -provided bulbs with “LED” bulbs in those buildings, as well as educating employees about the importance of following the procedures for rationalizing consumption, in light of the measures taken by the government For the sustainability of electrical nutrition.
During the meeting, Major General Ahmed Fahmy talked about the solar energy cell project in the government district of the administrative capital, explaining that the solar energy system is operated in all government buildings and connected to the network.
