President Abdel Fattah El -Sisi met in the city of El Alamein with Dr. Sameh El -Hafni, Minister of Civil Aviation, and Suhair Abdullah, President of EgyptAir Air Services.
The spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic stated that the meeting witnessed a review of the comprehensive strategic vision of the advancement of the civil aviation sector in its various components, including air navigation, aircraft fleet, airports development, and the development of the capabilities of the human element, within the framework of the state’s efforts to enhance the efficiency of the sector, increase its absorptive capacity, and improve the quality of services provided to travelers, in support of the state’s targets in raising the number of tourists to 30 million tourists.
Directing airports and launching Hurghada Airport to partnership with the private sector at the end of 2025
Ambassador Mohamed El -Shennawi, the official spokesman, stated that the President continued the executive position of the “New Republic Air Republic Gate” in Building (4) at Cairo International Airport, where the Minister of Civil Aviation presented the technical and operational specifications of the project, which aims to establish a new passenger building in accordance with the latest international standards, with a capacity of no less than 30 million passengers, and in order to raise the total energy of the airport to more than 60 million passengers annually, with full commitment to safety standards Security and concepts of environmental sustainability.
The spokesperson added that the President directed to continue to develop Egyptian airports through international partnerships based on efficiency and sustainability, in addition to stimulating the participation of the private sector, within the framework of the Egyptian state’s 2030 vision aimed at converting airports into advanced regional centers that adopt the latest global operational systems, while emphasizing the provision of an attractive investment environment that guarantees economic feasibility and sustainable development.
In this context, the Minister reviewed the features of the national strategy to involve the private sector in operating airports, which was prepared in cooperation with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) as the Ministry’s strategic advisor, explaining that work has been worked on preparing an integrated national strategy aimed at involving the private sector in operating and developing Egyptian airports, provided that the completion of this ambitious strategy is completed before the end of the summer of 2025, which aims to develop the sector Civil aviation, raising operational efficiency, improving the level of services provided to travelers, and introducing special investments and advanced operating experiences to develop 11 major airports, with a full emphasis on maintaining the public ownership of these biological assets. In this context, Mr. President directed to move forward towards developing airports according to the latest methods, and the introduction of Hurghada Airport to partnership with the private sector by the end of 2025.
The spokesperson pointed out that the meeting also dealt with the air navigation file, as the international praises that the Egyptian Air Monitoring system were referred to, especially in light of the recent regional crises and the closure of air fields in neighboring countries, which led to the rise in the movement of the Egyptian airspace to more than 1,600 aircraft per day, where international organizations such as “Eurocol”, “ICAO” and “IATA” praised the efficiency of air observers The Egyptians, who ran the movement with high efficiency without prejudice to safety standards or operational discipline. The spokesperson also pointed out that the meeting touched on the remarkable development achieved by EgyptAir, especially in upgrading passenger service across the various stages of travel, as it won for the first time the award for “Best Airlines Employees at the level of the continent of Africa” for the year 2025, within the evaluation of the “Skytrax” International Foundation during the Paris Air Show, and the company won several awards this year, most notably the award for best meals on the tourist degree, and the prize for the most development company In Africa (for the second year in a row), the award for the best hospitality crew on the continent. The Minister added that EgyptAir advanced 20 centers from last year, to be ranked 68th in the list of the best 100 airlines in the world among more than 325 companies, and also reviewed the company’s plan to update its fleet to reach 97 aircraft by 2029/2028, which enhances its competitiveness and improves the travel experience.
The Minister of Civil Aviation reviewed efforts to develop EgyptAir Air Services, by raising the efficiency of infrastructure and equipment, training workers, updating ground equipment, upgrading the level of services, and fully committing to international standards, as well as developing businessmen breaks in a way that meets the best levels of comfort and service, as well as improving the company’s performance with regard to regular rates of trips.
