Dr. Hani Swailem, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, held a meeting to follow up the activities of the Nile River Development and Protection Sector, and the sector’s efforts in removing encroachments in coordination with the relevant state agencies, the position of receiving the lands of the river from the Reconstruction Authority and the rates of completion in the surveying work of the lands of the river and ways to overcome any obstacles to receipt, as well as discussing the plan to protect and develop the Nile River in the production of modern surveying maps for the full length The Nile River Hungarian.
During the meeting, procedures for receiving the lands of the river were presented from the General Authority for Reconstruction and Agricultural Development, and presented the current achievement rates in surveying work as a first step in receiving procedures, as Dr. Swailem directed to exert more effort to overcome any obstacles while working to raise the achievement rates in this regard.
He also directed the development of a timetable for surveying and receiving work, so that priority is given to the lands of the river in the facades of the capitals and cities of the Nile governorates so that they can be optimally exploited in coordination with the devices of those governorates.

The sector’s plan was also presented in the production of modern digital maps for the Nile River, and the current procedures are currently in coordination with the relevant authorities to launch a project to produce modern digital maps for the Nile River, where Dr. Swailem pointed out the importance of this project in supporting the preparation of research studies and supporting the procedures for follow -up on the status of the Hungarian, and providing better tools for the sector engineers in dealing with the river depending on the means and modern mechanisms.
Regarding the removal of encroachments on the course of the Nile River and its two snakes, the 26th wave was started to remove encroachments on the course of the Nile River, after the completion of the wave number 25 during which 265 cases were removed on an area of 55 thousand square meters, and 299 cases were removed outside the wave 25, and 92 cases of transgression outside the wave 26 with the efforts and formats of the Nile Protection Sector with the specialized security authorities.
Dr. Swailem stressed the continuation of the follow -up from all the Nile Protection departments to supply any attempts to infringe in its cradle and before their exacerbation, especially with the start of removing encroachments within the activities of the wave 26, with all cases studying accurately from all technical and legal aspects to determine the optimal path to deal with them.
