Pakistan recorded the first death of dengue fever in the Sindh region during 2025

Hospital officials stated that the patient was in a critical condition and was placed on the artificial respiratory system during the past two days, as he was suffering from a sharp decrease in the number of platelets, which amounted to only 32 thousand, while the normal rate ranges between 150 thousand and 450 thousand per micolter of blood, which reflects the extent of its deterioration.

This is the first death to be recorded due to dengue fever in the region during this year, while official statistics indicate the record of 295 cases of the disease so far in the bond, a relatively low number compared to previous years.

The Pakistani health authorities continue to monitor the situation closely amid warnings of the possibility of high injuries with the rainy season, which usually witnesses a greater spread of mosquitoes that transmit the disease.

It is worth noting that dengue fever is known as a viral infection that is transmitted through the bites of AEDES AEGYPTI mosquitoes, and lead to symptoms that include severe fever, muscle pain and low platelets, and may cause fatal complications in some patients, especially in the absence of immediate medical care.
