The Awqaf Directorate in Assiut Governorate announced the organization of a symposium on addiction, its causes, risks and how to prevent it, at the Al -Kabeer Mosque in Al -Walidiya, Assiut, next Sunday.

Mohamed Abdel -Latif Mahmoud, Director General of Da`wah and Cultural Centers, said that, under the directives of Dr. Osama El -Sayed Al -Azhari, Minister of Awqaf, the Ministry of Awqaf continues its advocacy and scientific efforts to spread awareness, correct concepts, and achieve the purposes of Sharia in the protection of the soul and society.
He added that the Assiut Endowments Directorate organizes a major scientific symposium entitled: Addiction: its causes, its risks, and ways to prevent it, on Sunday, June 22, 2025 AD, with the participation of a group of imams of the Assiut Endowments Directorate, within the framework of the awareness campaign adopted by the Assiut Endowments Directorate to combat negative phenomena in society, foremost of which is the phenomenon of addiction, which is a direct threat to security The individual, the stability of the family and the safety of society.
The symposium aims to shed light on the causes of psychological, social and behavioral addiction, the devastating effects on the individual and society, the legal role in combating and preventing it with a conscious, religious, religious approach.
