On the sidelines of the Islamic Cooperation Organization meetings, the Foreign Minister of Egypt and Saudi Arabia are looking to enhance economic cooperation

Dr. Badr Abdel -Ati, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, met today, Saturday, with Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on the sidelines of their participation in the meetings of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Istanbul.

Egypt’s foreign and Saudi foreign ministers discuss enhancing economic cooperation

Minister Abdel -Ati praised the brotherly ties enjoyed by the Egyptian -Saudi relations, stressing the keenness to inaugurate the Egyptian -Saudi Supreme Coordination Council, and the Egyptian Saudi Investment Forum held in the presence of ministers and businessmen from both sides, as an important and constructive step to support economic relations between the two countries, in implementation of the directives of the two political leaderships in the two brotherly countries to improve bilateral relations to wider horizons.

The Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs reviewed the Egyptian Gulf Investment Forum scheduled to be hosted by Cairo during the current year under the umbrella of the ministerial consultative mechanism between Egypt and the Gulf Cooperation Council, and it is expected to contribute to achieving a qualitative shift in the march of Egyptian Gulf economic integration, especially in the fields of trade and industry, new and renewable energy, logistical connection, communications, information technology, digital transformation, health, agriculture and education, in some way The forum provides it with important opportunities to develop partnerships and cooperation programs between Egypt and its members of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf.

Minister Abdel -Ati also highlighted what the issue of resettlement of industry and technology has an advanced priority for the Egyptian state, stressing the importance of achieving integration between Egypt and the Kingdom in the industrial fields, especially industries related to renewable energy and food security, and reviewed in this context the facilities provided by the Egyptian government to investors in the field of industry.

On the other hand, the two ministers exchanged visions regarding the repercussions of the escalation between Israel and Iran on the situation in the region, where the Foreign Minister renewed the need to make all political and diplomatic efforts to reduce the escalation, the ceasefire and the resumption of the diplomatic path to reach a sustainable agreement on the Iranian nuclear program.
