Oil prices witnessed a slight increase at the settlement, on Wednesday, in a session that witnessed fluctuations, amid market anticipation of developments that may affect energy supplies.
Brent crude futures increased by 25 cents to $ 76.70 a barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate crude rose 30 cents to $ 75.14. Prices witnessed a decrease of about 2% earlier in the session, after a jump exceeding 4% last Tuesday.
In the context of supplies, US Energy Information Administration data showed a decrease in oil stocks in the United States by 11.5 million barrels to 420.9 million barrels last week, exceeding expectations of 1.8 million barrels.
In terms of monetary policy, the Federal Reserve kept the interest rates fixed, with expectations to reduce half a percentage this year.
