The Ministry of Health and Population announced the examination of 17 million and 861 thousand and 530 citizens, as part of the initiative of President Abdel Fattah El -Sisi, to examine and treat chronic diseases and early detection of kidney disorder, since the start of the initiative in September 2021 until today.

Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that the initiative operates through 3601 primary care units at the level of the Republic, and aims to early diagnosis and the treatment of chronic diseases, and to provide high quality health services to all citizens in the older age group of 40 years, in addition to the youth category from the age of 18 years, who have a history of chronic diseases.

He added that the initiative provides blood pressure measurement tests, blood sugar levels “random and cumulative”, blood fat, kidney tests, and body mass index, in addition to providing awareness services for risk factors for chronic diseases, and following the beneficiaries of the initiative, during consecutive visits, their dates are determined based on the results of the initial tests.

He pointed out that the medical conditions that are discovered with chronic diseases “pressure, sugar” are disbursed for free from health units or are referred to hospitals to receive the necessary treatment according to the health condition of each patient, in a way that contributes to reducing the rates of chronic kidney disease, according to the guidelines for chronic diseases that have been prepared through cooperation between the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization, explaining that the scientific committee affiliated The initiative participates in the development of guidelines, and holds training courses for the involved medical staff.

Abdel Ghaffar pointed out that in the event that the patient is confirmed by chronic renal illness, he is referred to hospitals to receive the necessary treatment for free within the initiative, pointing to the training of medical teams in the initial care units to use the “early detection of renal illness”, appealing to citizens who suffer from chronic diseases “pressure, sugar” the need to visit health units to take advantage of the services of the “President’s initiative to examine and treat chronic diseases and early detection Renal disorder “and reassuring their health” for free. “
