DUBAI – Wam revealed a report issued by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) that the tourism and travel sector in the United Arab Emirates recorded an exceptional performance during the year 2024, as its contribution to the state’s GDP increased to 257.3 billion dirhams (70.1 billion dollars), which represents 13% of the national economy, and with an increase rate of 3.2% compared to 2023, and 26% Compared to the year 2019 pre -pandemic, and it is among the highest rates in terms of tourism contributing to enhancing economic growth regionally and globally. Exceptional achievements for the tourism sector said, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, “God bless him”.
