Mrs. Fatima bint Jaafar Al-Serafi, Minister of Tourism, confirmed that strengthening cooperation with the private sector contributed to achieving the goals of the tourism sector strategy (2022-2026), and reflected positively on the increase in the number of visitors to the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the high rates of hotel occupancy during the blessed Eid Al-Adha holiday. She pointed out that the promotional efforts focused on launching innovative bouquets targeting Gulf families, in cooperation with Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, as well as hotels, resorts, travel and tourism agents, as the Gulf states are one of the most prominent five major target markets according to the tourism sector strategy, which clearly reflected on positive indicators.

Al -Serafi said that the activity witnessed by the tourism sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain during this period reflects the development of tourism infrastructure and the diversity of services, in addition to the presence of advanced facilities that meet the aspirations of visitors, as well as the diversity of the tourism experience through events, theatrical performances and various recreational activities that suit different tastes, noting the importance of integrating efforts between the public and private sectors in supporting the growth of this promising sector.

Al -Serafi added that the Kingdom of Bahrain pays increasing interest in the tourism sector as one of the priority sectors, which requires the launch of qualitative initiatives and the implementation of projects that enhance the civilizational and cultural elements of the Kingdom, which contributes to the consolidation of its position on the map of regional and international tourism.

She emphasized that the current indicators reflect the accelerated progress towards achieving the goals of the tourism strategy, by increasing the contribution of the tourism sector in the gross domestic product, and consolidating the position of the Kingdom of Bahrain as a sustainable destination for tourism in the region, by expanding the options of entertainment, hospitality and shopping, providing travel and integrated residence, and enhancing a sustainable tourism system.
