French President Emmanuel Macron said on Monday that the siege imposed by Israel on the Gaza Strip and the prevention of the entry of humanitarian aid to it is “blatant”, calling again to a ceasefire, release the hostages and reopen the crossings.
Macron highlighted that France is “vigilant … and stands alongside all its citizens when they are in danger”, after the Israeli forces intercepted a ship carrying supporters of the Palestinians, including six French people at dawn on Monday.
He stressed that France “brought all the messages” to Israel to ensure the protection of activists and “enable them to return to French territory.”
The Israeli forces had arrested the aid boat as it went to the Gaza Strip and turned its path into Israel.
The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a publication on social media: “A selfie yacht is safely heading to the shores of Israel, and the passengers are expected to return to their homelands.”
She added that humanitarian aid on the ship will be transferred to Gaza through the applicable channels.
Later, local reports revealed that the aid ship had reached the port of Ashdod.
