Khalid bin Hamad: “Dana for drama” supports creativity and reflects the Bahraini, Gulf and Arab identity

His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Authority for Sports, Chairman of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, praised the success and development of the “Dana Award for Drama” in its second year of success and development, noting His Highness the prominent role played by the award in supporting creativity, and encouraging artists to present distinguished artworks, and reflects the Bahraini, Gulf and Arab identity.

Under the auspices and presence of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Bahrain National Theater was held yesterday evening, the delivery ceremony of the second edition of the “Dana Award for Drama 2025”, in the presence of the Minister of Information Dr. Ramzan Al -Nuaimi, and a group of stars and makers of Gulf and Arab drama, along with a number of media and guests from inside and outside Bahrain.

His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa emphasized that the great support that His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the Great Culture and Art in the Kingdom of Bahrain, is a major motivation for the prosperity of the cultural and artistic scene in the Kingdom, appreciating his highness, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, is keen to enable the cultural and artistic movement, in a way that contributes to the Kingdom of Bahrain. As a center for Arab creativity.

His Highness said: “The remarkable development witnessed by the award this year, whether at the level of posts or the quality of artistic production, reflects its great impact, and its value as a leading platform to celebrate artistic creativity,” noting His Highness the importance of the award in embracing and honoring the drama makers from writers, directors and actors, and motivating them to continue to present creative works.

His Highness congratulated the winners of the Dana Awards for Drama 2025, expressing His Highness his pride in their creations that express the importance and impact of sophisticated and committed art in serving society, wishing him success in continuing creativity and artistic production, and providing works that rise to the level of Gulf and Arab drama.

His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to the Ministry of Information for its great efforts in organizing the award, praising His Highness for the role of the award’s jury in evaluating the participating works with all professionalism, which contributed to highlighting the distinguished works and promising faces in the artistic scene.

The Minister of Information presented a speech during the ceremony in which he thanks and appreciated the high position of His Majesty the Great King, and to His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, the Prime Minister, where the award comes in an embodiment of the wise vision aimed at supporting and encouraging creativity and excellence in a way that enhances the artistic movement in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the region.

The Minister also extended thanks and appreciation to His Highness the sponsor of the ceremony, His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, stressing that the generous care and unlimited support from His Highness had the greatest impact on the development of the award and its continuation in its second edition to form a platform that motivates creators from the drama makers to provide artwork that contributes to enriching the cultural and artistic scene with targeted and influential contents.

During the ceremony, a dramatic and lyrical operetta was presented with the participation of a group of artists, which included theatrical and artistic scenes that highlighted the importance of art and its role in building societies and enhancing human values, in addition to a number of paintings presented by a group of children through lyric shows representing various Arab Gulf countries, which reflected the diversity of heritage and the unity of Gulf identity.

The operetta also included dramatic narrative paragraphs that embodied stations from the history of Gulf art, as well as using modern techniques and visual effects, which added a creative and interactive nature to the show, and contributed to enhancing the visual experience of the attendees.

After that, the winners of the “Dana Drama” award were announced and honored in its ten categories and the audience voting categories, and they are:

– The “Best Social Series” award, and won by the “Al -Ashi Street” series.

– The “Best Comedy Series” award, and was won by the series “Diaries of a Spinsit Man”.

– The “Best Actor” award, and the artist Khaled Saqr won it for his role in the series “Al -Asha Street”.

– The “Best Actress” award, and the artist Ilham Ali won for her role in the series “Al -Ashi Street”.

– The “Best Rising Face” award: In the youth category, the artist Ahmed Saeed won for his role in the series “Awash”, and in the category of young actresses, the artist Alaa Salem won her role in the series “Al -Ashi Street”.

– The “Best Dramatic Text” award, and the writer Badria Al -Bishr and the writer Ozim Yolil won the series “Al -Ashi Street”.

– The “Best Director” award, and the director Gul Srayalon won it for the series “Al -Ashi Street”.

– The “Best Soundtrack” award, and was won by the author Nawaf Al -Jumaan for the series “Layali Al -Shmeisi”.

– The “Best Child Actor” award, and the child Mahmoud Al -Mousawi won it for the series “Taaber Sabeel”.

– The “Best visual effects” award, and was won by Khaled bin Younis for a series for the series “Agents”.

– The “Best Series – Audience Vote” Award, and won by the series “Al -Ashi Street”.

The “Best Actor – Audience Vote” Award, and was won by the artist Abdul Rahman bin Nafi.

The “Best Actress – Audience Vote” Award, and the artist Lama Abdel Wahab won it.

The sponsor of the ceremony also handed over the Dana Appreciation Award to: The Fighter artist Abdullah Malik, the able artist Maryam Al -Saleh, and the able artist Hayat Al -Fahd.

For their part, the award winners expressed their thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa for his generous patronage and his continuous support for art and artists, stressing that this award represents a major platform for honoring talents and drama makers and motivating them to provide the best.
