The Director General of the General Administration for the Implementation of Ruling on Alternative Provisions and Penalties, Sheikh Khalid bin Rashid Al Khalifa, revealed that the General Administration for the Implementation of Rights and Alternative Penalties achieved tangible results, as more than 8,500 beneficiaries were rehabilitated and integrated into society, including ۲۷۳ within the open prisons program, with a success rate of 97.5% in addition to the decrease in the rate of return to the crime to% ۲ 5, which confirms the effectiveness of the qualification programs and the success of the model The reformist.
He added during his participation in the first international conference for alternative penalties that the impact not only stopped with individuals, but also extended to more than 8,500 families that regained their stability, and breathed new hope thanks to this humanitarian project. Also, more than 50 % of the beneficiaries obtained jobs after the implementation of the punishment, which reflects the role of the system in economic and social empowerment, and its assertion that the punishment can be a real opportunity to build a new life based on work and dignity.
He said that one of the most prominent indicators of excellence is also that this national experience attracted more than 100 official visits from national and international bodies, during the past two years, to see the mechanisms of application and transfer best practices from the ground.

Besides, the project won prestigious prizes, including the Arab Government Excellence Award as the best project for community development, and the Prince Nayef Award for Arab Security, in appreciation of its role in enhancing community security by humanitarian means.
The Open Prison Program also obtained an international accreditation certificate from the American Correctional Association, as the first program outside the United States to be granted this accreditation, which confirms Bahrain’s leadership and its commitment to the highest standards of reform justice globally.
For his part, MP Ahmed Al -Salloum revealed that 25 people from the alternative penal program guests were rehabilitated to become entrepreneurs, through cooperation with the Ministry of Interior according to a program that is part of the alternative penal program.
He added that hundreds of guests were trained and qualified to engage in the labor market, in addition to providing training programs that meet the requirements of the labor market, noting that the program and partnership continues with the aim of making guests positive elements in society.
