This is in short, the story of the Bahraini Journalists Association, which celebrated yesterday, with the kind patronage of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Prime Minister, with the silver jubilee of its founding, to culminate in the path of giving and achievement that reflected its effects on the free word industry, and formed a new stage to enter into a distinguished state of media work with its modern tools.
personally; My entry into the media work arena was shortly after the establishment of the association, as I was one of its youngest members, as my beginnings were formed in the journalistic work, and for the honesty, the association contributed through many courses and events that I organized for its members to refine my journalistic skills, and created an effective communication between generations of the professionals, which contributed to the transfer of experiences and skills smoothly.
On the evening of Thursday, the thirtieth of March 2000, 24 journalists and journalists carried a belief in the right of the Bahraini press to have a house that embraces her voice, expresses her aspirations, protects her profession and freedom of her word, and contributes to the development of the profession.
On that historic day; Not only was the document of establishing a professional association; Rather, a new era for a Bahraini press was launched, capable of organizing and organizing, under a legal and institutional umbrella, where committees were formed, personalities were elected, and internal regulations and a basic system were written in a scene characterized by the highest levels of transparency and maturity.
Today after twenty -five years; During which almost everything changed in the world around us, the profession has turned from ink and paper to screens buttons, digital space and artificial intelligence, but what was not changed is the need for an inclusive voice that preserves professional dignity, expands the prospects for development, and ensures that the journalist remains at the heart of the national scene, not on his margin.
The Bahraini Journalists Association was, and it is still part of the great national project, which was laid by His Majesty the Great King, the project of reform, democracy, development and freedom of expression.
In light of the continuous care of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, the Prime Minister, the association continued to enable its members, take care of new generations of journalists, organize workshops and events, and stand by the journalist when the horizon narrowed, just as I did with me when I was a young woman who touched the profession with passion and hope.
Today, as we celebrate the silver jubilee, we do not celebrate only the passage of 25 years of foundation, but we celebrate every sincere word, every free voice, and every charter of honor, and every meeting we gathered under the roof of the association, we celebrate the first generation that believed in the dream, and everyone who came after him to carry it forward.
