Military confrontations between Israel and Iran continued for the ninth day in a row, in light of a remarkable escalation of a number of Iranian military sites in various provinces.
Today, Saturday, the Israeli army announced that it had been carried out air strikes targeting “military infrastructure” southwestern Iran, as part of what it described as “preventive operations.”
The Ahwaz area witnessed hearing several consecutive explosions, according to media reports.
Iranian sources also reported that a military center in the city of Shiraz was attacked at an air attack, at a time when the “Mehr” agency announced the activation of air defense systems to intercept hostile targets in the sky of the city.
In another development, the Iranian “ISNA” agency reported that four members of the Revolutionary Guards were killed in a blow targeting a military site in the city of Tabriz, northwest of the country, while the activation of air defense systems in the capital, Tehran, was announced in anticipation of possible attacks.
In an official statement, the Israeli army confirmed the implementation of a qualitative security operation that resulted in the killing of Saeed Ezdi, one of the leaders of the Revolutionary Guards Force, describing it as a “link of connection” between Iran and a number of armed groups, indicating that he was targeted inside a secret apartment in the city of Qom.
Hanam Shahriari, commander of the logistical support unit of the Jerusalem Corporation, was also announced during a raid targeting his car in western Iran, in addition to the killing of the leader Amin Port Judky, who is accused of coordinating attacks using drones.
These developments come at a time when the region is witnessing a state of escalating tension, amid international calls for restraint and avoiding slipping towards a wider confrontation.
