The Iraqi Federation announced through an official statement published on its Facebook page that it submitted the hosting request within the deadline set by the AFC, confirming the complete readiness to provide all the requirements of the organization, including security standards, logistical services, and financial obligations. The statement pointed out that the Iraqi move is directly supported by the Iraqi government and the relevant state institutions, which enhances the chances of the success of its file.

The Iraqi Federation stressed in its AFC speech the importance of adopting the highest standards of transparency and justice in choosing the host country for this decisive role. He also expressed his welcome to the Indonesian proposal calling for a public disclosure of the mechanism for evaluating hosting files and selection standards, considering that this “enhances the confidence of the Asian national federations and devotes the principle of equal opportunities.”

The Iraqi statement highlighted the availability of a modern sports infrastructure in the country, and the accumulation of organizational experiences with the Iraqi Federation, supported by a wide mass, which is one of the most passionate in the continent. This move comes in light of the Iraqi team guaranteeing the occupation of one of the third or fourth places in the second group of the third round of the qualifiers, where it is currently the third place with 12 points, before running the closing confrontation against Jordan in the capital, Amman, on Tuesday evening.
