More than 180 Bahraini citizens returned to the homeland this evening, among the first evacuation trips organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to return the citizens stranded in Iran. The evacuation process was carried out through a land and air path, where citizens were transferred from the Iranian city of Mashhad to the border with Turkmenistan, then to the capital, Ashqab, and from there through a flight to Cairo, to Bahrain International Airport.
The evacuation process took place in coordination with the relevant authorities, and with the accompaniment of diplomats from the Bahraini embassy in Turkmenistan, in order to ensure the safety of citizens and provide logistical support to them. This step comes within a series of trips planned to return all suspended citizens, as evacuation campaigns will continue in the coming days.
The returnees valued the efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Bahraini diplomatic missions, expressing their gratitude for providing facilities and securing their return to the homeland safely.
