Higher education announces the harvest of student activities in the Ministry and the Leadership Preparation Institute for 2025

The student activities sector in the ministry and the Leadership Institute witnessed an intense activity throughout the academic year 2024-2025, in light of the state’s directions to build an integrated, conscious student figure, and is able to participate in the national development process, and within the framework of the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to enhance the role of universities in empowering young people and preparing them for the future.

Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, affirmed that building the Egyptian person is an essential pillar in the ministry’s strategy, noting that the activities and initiatives achieved during this university year embodies the state’s commitment to empowering young people and providing full support to them to refine their skills, expand their perceptions and direct their energies to serve the country. He added that the ministry pays great attention to student activities as a pillar to build an enlightened national awareness, and is working to develop them in proportion to the aspirations of the new republic.

In the same context, Dr. Karim Hammam, the Minister’s Adviser for Student Activities and Director of the Institute for Leadership Preparation, stressed that the institute and the sector work throughout the year with large -scale partnerships to implement qualitative programs that meet the needs of young people, and keep pace with the state’s priorities, adding that the harvest reflects a real institutional trend towards investing in minds and building a personality capable of leading the future.

The year witnessed the implementation of 25,490 various student activities in Egyptian universities, covering the fields of culture, arts, sports, science, technology, entrepreneurship and social and voluntary activities, and contributed to promoting national affiliation and refining students leadership and intellectual skills. The 2150 centers have been implemented at the level of the Republic, reflecting the trend towards the availability of activities for students in various geographical regions.

In the context of supporting national culture, more than 15 thousand students from public, private, private, and technological universities and institutes participated in the activities of the Cairo International Book Fair, by organizing daily visits supervised by the sector, and contributed to enriching students’ knowledge, developing their critical skills and consolidating the concepts of intellectual openness and moderation.

The sector also organized, in cooperation with the media office of the Ministry, an unprecedented extensive dialogue between the minister and students of Egyptian universities inside the Grand Celebration Hall at Cairo University, which provided an interactive space to display their visions and aspirations.
The students also participated in the activities of the new Al -Alamein Festival, which was held under the patronage of the Minister, with the aim of introducing them to national projects and major development achievements, and providing them with the opportunity to practice activities in a global environment that supports their awareness of sustainable development.

Within the framework of institutional cooperation, a number of events were implemented in partnership with the Fund for the Control and Treatment of Addiction and Abuse, among them the theatrical performance “Cell” in a number of universities with the aim of raising students’ awareness of drug risks, in addition to implementing the training program “The beginning of Egyptian university leaders” in Sharm El Sheikh, which included workshops and dialogue sessions that strengthened leadership skills and community awareness, and concluded by choosing the best three student initiatives For implementation within universities. A cooperation protocol was also signed between the institute and the fund in the presence of the Minister and the Minister of Social Solidarity to enhance awareness, prevention and treatment efforts on the campus.

The year witnessed the launch of national competitions to stimulate student creativity, which included the “Best University in Student Activities” competition, which aimed to support the development of skills and community participation, and a “Together” competition to produce short videos to counter extremism and enhance tolerance and moderation.

In terms of supporting awareness of identity, the institute organized the “Identity of the Egyptian Identity” program within the “beginning” initiative, and guarantees meetings with public figures, interactive lectures and cultural offers on the consolidation of national values ​​and pride in Egyptian history, in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture. The “Idrak” forum was also held for student dialogue and building national awareness, and the inclusion of sessions on national security, moderate religious discourse, and dark internet risks.
The year witnessed the activation of qualitative pioneering activities, the most prominent of which is the “Strategy to use social media in entrepreneurship” and the “Preparation of Social Innovation Leaders” program, which contributed to enabling students to design innovative community initiatives using artificial intelligence and digital media, and develop their skills in entrepreneurship.

The Arab Program for Preparation of Innovation and Entrepreneurship leaders at the University of Sharjah was also organized during February 2025, with the participation of 100 students from 18 Arab universities, and included lectures in leadership, sustainability, space science, and artificial intelligence. The Jordanian city of Aqaba also hosted the Arab training program on artificial intelligence and information war, with the participation of students from 16 Arab countries, within the framework of cooperation with the Union of Arab Universities.
The institute continued to rehabilitate university cadres, where he organized a training program for candidates to occupy the position of president of a university in August 2024, the university leadership, media, law, national security, and crisis management dealt with, and the training program “Ambassadors of the Homeland” was held for faculty members who are candidates for external missions, within the framework of the ministry’s plan to enhance cultural and cognitive exchange and honorable representation of Egypt.

The first specialized leadership camp for pharmacy colleges students in cooperation with Fayoum University was also organized, taking leadership in the health sector, digital transformation, and innovation in medical specialties, in a strategic trend towards qualifying medical students to confront global changes.

The Ramadan activities this year witnessed distinguished activities, which included the “Ramadan Jame us” program for religious chants and hymns in cooperation with Al -Azhar University, and the Ramadan football session for students of social solidarity units under the slogan “Our strength in our youth”, in which Beni Suef University crowned first place.

Within the framework of building the awareness of university students, the institute organized the activities of “Salon of Cultural Leaders” under the patronage and presence of the Minister, and with the participation of a group of thinkers and artists, and the participants discussed the role of soft powers in facing rumors and building national affiliation, and the Egyptian University for E -Learning hosted the first forum for administrators in Port Said, which included training programs in management, finance and national security, during which the cooperation protocol with the institute was renewed to support Administrative cadres capabilities.

With the participation of the students of the institute in organizing the graduation ceremony of the first batch of students of the new private universities, which was held at the Grand Egyptian Museum in the presence of the Prime Minister and a number of ministers and ambassadors, in addition to their participation in the student meeting held by the minister within the activities of the program “happens in Egypt”, and witnessed a wide interaction of university students.
