Dr. Alaa Abdel Majid, head of the Health Care Chamber of the Federation of Egyptian Industries, said that the Chamber continues its relentless efforts in developing the capabilities of the private health sector and keeping pace with international quality standards, through a package of specialized training courses, in cooperation with a number of official authorities.
Alaa Abdel -Majid: An active participation in activating and stimulating medical tourism in Egypt
Abdul Majeed added, during the last room meeting, which was attended by Dr. Khaled Samir, Undersecretary of the Chamber, Dr. Mamdouh Al -Arabi, member of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, Dr. Mustafa Al -Asmar, member of the Board of Directors, Dr. Mohamed Habas, Dr. Hisham Majid, Dr. Hani Hafez Sharif, and Dr. Amr Hamza, that the Chamber is in the process of implementing a new training course for the accreditation of Gahar, which targets the governorates that are scheduled to join the comprehensive health insurance system during the next stage.
This course will be organized to address all the criteria of Gahar, as well as the preliminary accreditation criteria for private hospitals, with the aim of raising the efficiency of health facilities and facilitating their entry into the comprehensive health insurance system.
Dr. Alaa Abdel Majid also announced that the Chamber is in the process of holding an expanded introductory course in Matrouh Governorate during the coming period, with the aim of introducing the comprehensive health insurance system, and explaining the mechanisms for joining private health facilities to it, whether they are hospitals, analyzes laboratories, or radiology centers, in coordination with the General Authority for Accreditation and Health Control, to ensure the achievement of the required readiness before the official application.
He pointed out that the Chamber will hold a training course under the title: Hospital Administration and Strategic Thought in Health Care, aimed at developing the capabilities of the health sector leaders in Egypt, and includes topics on modern tools for strategic planning, concepts of financial sustainability, and other axes that keep pace with transformations in health care globally.
He explained that these courses will be provided with partial support by 30% of the Chamber, with the aim of expanding the base of benefiting from training and development programs.
In the context of expanding its partnerships, Abdel Majid revealed the Chamber’s tendency to expand the base of its members ’participation in cooperation with the state’s authorities during hospitals, laboratories and approved private radiology centers, in order to enhance the quality of health services provided.
The Chamber recently participated in the meeting of the Medical Tourism Committee headed by Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister of Human Resources and Minister of Health and Population, which witnessed the presentation of many topics targeting medical and hospital tourism in Egypt, in preparation for placing Egypt on the map of medical tourism globally, stressing that the private sector will have a pivotal role in implementing this strategy.
