General Motors is developing many of the next generation batteries technologies to address the most prominent challenges related to the extent of electric cars, shipping performance, and cost K.

General Motors explores the solid -state batteries with the expansion of pushing towards electric cars

Koshal Narayanaswami, director of advanced batteries cell engineering at General Motors, told Insideevs in an interview last week: Our research and development team in General Motors continues to actively work on solid status techniques, whether it depends entirely on the solid condition, sulfide, oxide, or ceramic.

He added: Our research and development team also discusses sodium ions.

The high voltage battery is the most expensive and most important component in the electric car, and its efforts and capabilities are directly affecting the charging and discharge that the electric car accelerates the speed of the electric car and the distance it travels, and due to the high cost of the battery, electric cars are generally more expensive than their gasoline counterparts, on average, electric cars cost about 9644 dollars more than cars that run in gasoline in May, according to COX Automotive.

Car industry companies and batteries work to reduce these costs, in addition to improving the extent of driving, shipping and safety speeds compared to traditional lithium ions cells.

Besides its main batteries supplier, LG Energy Solichon, General Motors is now the largest cell product in North America, superior to Tesla, and executive officials at General Motors confirm their ability to produce cells at a cost of less than their competitors.
