In a painful scene that was overwhelmed by tears and sadness, the families of the Palestinian infants were held by their bodies from Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip – Thursday – after they died as a result of the Israeli siege.
On June 19, two hospitals in Gaza warned of an imminent “health catastrophe” that threatens the life of infants as a result of the exhaustion of infant formula amid the continued siege and war.
Mahmoud Shurrab, the infant’s uncle Nidal (5 months), said that his nephew died as a result of “lack of food and the lack of milk”, noting that there are similar cases in the hospital that require urgent intervention to enter the therapeutic milk and food appropriate for children.
As for Muhammad Al -Hams, the father of the baby is Kinda (10 days), and he said that his daughter died due to malnutrition and lack of medicines.
“These are the victims of the war, and these are the achievements of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, which he offers to his people,” he added.
He continued that the world is watching Gaza children, who are starving, referring to his silence on Israel’s crimes.
He pointed out that the Gaza Strip does not have time without a funeral prayer due to the extermination committed by Israel.
On Wednesday, the Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the health and humanitarian conditions have reached a “catastrophic phase” due to the continued genocide, noting that cases of malnutrition among children – especially infants – in light of the lack of therapeutic milk.
The last two deaths are added to an escalating outcome of the victims of hunger and deprivation of treatment, as the government media office in Gaza announced in the last statistic on May 25th, 242 deaths due to the lack of food and medicine, most of them children and the elderly.
The health system in Gaza suffers from a complete collapse of the intentional Israeli targeting of hospitals and the remaining health centers working in the sector and preventing the entry of medicines, supplies and medical devices.
Since last March 2, Israel continues a systematic starvation policy for about 2.2 million Palestinians in Gaza by closing the crossings in the face of assistance accumulated on the border, which introduced the sector to the stage of starvation and claimed the lives of many.
