Dr. Maya Morsi, Minister of Social Solidarity, and Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development, issued two joint decisions regarding the “decent housing for a decent life” initiative that was launched last Sunday, under the auspices of Prime Minister Dr. Mustafa Madbouly.
The first decision came to form a supreme committee for the “decent housing for a decent life” initiative, headed by the Minister of Social Solidarity and Local Development, representatives of the Ministries of Social Solidarity and Local Development, representatives of the institutions of the civil society “Egypt Al -Khair – Hayat Karima – Orman”, and a representative of the House of Engineering.
Forming a higher and executive committee for a decent housing initiative
This committee specializes in approving the strategic plan, standards and specifications related to rehabilitation and adopting the general budget of the project in the executive committee formed for the initiative, and defining the frameworks of cooperation with partners from civil societies, institutions and the private sector, and the target groups of activities related to the initiative for the executive committee and for this committee, as well as reviewing periodic reports and work that were made by the Executive Committee and amendments that may occur during the implementation of the tasks of this committee The executive of the initiative and its approval, supervising the work of the executive committee formed for the initiative, providing support to it and immediately responding to solving any problem facing its work.
As for the second decision, it includes the formation of a joint executive committee for the “decent housing for a decent life” initiative between the Ministry of Local Development and the Ministry of Social Solidarity headed by Ayman Abdel -Mawgoud, the permanent undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Solidarity, and includes in its membership representatives of the two ministries, the institutions of the civil society “Egypt Al -Khair – a decent life – Orman”, the executive director of the Association Projects Support Fund, and a representative of the General Authority of Nasser Social Bank.
The committee shall follow up on the implementation of the initiative and distribute homes to the institutions of the civil society in accordance with the criteria that are approved by the Supreme Committee, the approval of the associations that join participating in the initiative, prepare the action plan, and prepare monthly reports of the size of the completion and presentation to the Supreme Committee.
