The statement of the Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqji, in which he said, “Iran is not Lebanon and any attack that will be met with an immediate response,” a widespread controversy on social media platforms in Lebanon and the region.
The statement, which came in the context of a message addressed to the United States and Israel, was considered by some to an insult to Iran’s close ally, Hezbollah, and a mockery of the Lebanese situation, while others saw that it reflects Iran’s emphasis on its political and military power compared to the challenges facing Lebanon.
According to the Sky News Arabia channel via the X platform on June 27, 2025, Araqji indicated that any violation of the ceasefire will face a decisive Iranian cold, which sparked different explanations about the indications of the statement.
