A special source inside Al -Ahly revealed the club’s position on contracting with a new foreign defender during the current summer transfer window.
Al -Ahly’s name was associated with his interest in contracting with Ali Youssef, the defender of the Tunisian African team, in the current summer transfers to support the team.
Does Al -Ahly include a new foreign defender this summer?
According to the source in exclusive statements to Cairo 24, Al -Ahly is not planning to include a new foreign defender this summer, especially in light of the presence of Moroccan Ashraf Dari.
The source continued in his statements to contract with a new but local defender to support the defensive line of the team before the new season.
He concluded in his statements that the red team may include a foreign defender in one case, which is the departure of Ashraf Dari, but dispensing with the Moroccan this summer is unlikely.
On the other hand, Al -Ahly is interested in contracting a new local defender in order to compensate for the departure of Rami Rabia, who moved to Al Ain Emirati ranks in a free transfer deal.
Al -Ahly’s name is strongly linked to the contract with Yassin Merhi, the defender of the Farko team, to support the team’s defensive line before the start of the new season.
Al -Ahly players won a negative rest period of group training for 18 days, after the end of the Red Team’s journey in the 2025 Club World Cup.
Al -Ahly bid farewell to the tournament from the group stage competitions, after it finished fourth in the table of the first group of the World Cup groups.
