Deputy Dr. Munir Sorour called for expanding the scope of effective digital solutions through the participation of successful initiatives, and supporting the cross -border digital partnerships between the actors in the public and private sectors and civil society.
This came in an intervention by the deputy in the twentieth forum for Internet governance, which is held in Norway, where the forum is organizing the Norway Parliament, “Al -Asting”, in partnership with the General Secretariat of the Internet Governance Forum, hosted by the United Nations Economic and Social Affairs Department.
D. Sorour during the forum: “We all realize that the digital world is a common space, where governments, private sector, civil society and academic circles must work together. The more we strengthen the bridges of cooperation between these bodies, the more our ability to enhance comprehensive growth and face common challenges.”
He called on a member of the House of Representatives to focus on three main areas, most notably the status of legal frameworks, stressing the importance of adopting flexible and supportive legislation that enhances the exchange of data and best practices, while ensuring privacy and respect for sovereignty.
He pointed to the need to invest in human capabilities by expanding the scope of digital skills and capacity -building programs to fill the cognitive gap between the regions and the concerned authorities, stressing the importance of establishing sustainable coordination mechanisms through the establishment of permanent platforms for dialogue and follow -up between countries and organizations to ensure continuity and concrete progress.
He pointed out that Bahrain has made remarkable progress in establishing a comprehensive digital system that supports innovation and cooperation, as our national strategies – such as the 2030 Economic Vision and the National Communications Plan – contributed to accelerating digital transformation in all sectors, indicating that Bahrain is one of the first countries in the region that adopted the cloud computing policy in public sector services, which paved the way for further openness and cross -border partnerships.
The delegation of the Parliamentary Division of the Kingdom of Bahrain, which participates in the twentieth forum for Internet governance in Norway during the period from 23 to 27 June, alongside MP Dr. Munir Sorour, MP Muhammad Yusef Al -Marafi, and member of the Shura Council Ali Hussein Al -Shehabi.
