The General Authority for Health Care announced the success of a medical team at the Ismailia Medical Complex in performing a delicate and complex surgery for corneal implants and deciphering adhesions for a 62 -year -old woman, within the framework of the comprehensive health insurance system, which reflects the ongoing efforts in developing health services and providing advanced and safe care for citizens.
Dr. Ahmed Al -Sobky, Chairman of the General Authority for Health Care, stated that the success of this complex surgery is a true translation of the development of the authority in the quality of services and health care provided, stressing that this type of accurate interventions is conducted with Egyptian expert hands and using the latest medical devices and technologies, in line with the highest international standards.
He added that this achievement proves the full readiness of the authority’s hospitals to receive such complex cases, and reflects our commitment to expanding the scope of advanced specialized services, and enhancing citizens’ confidence in the comprehensive health insurance system, as an umbrella that provides integrated and safe health care for all groups of society.

Al -Sobky pointed out that the cost of the operation for the patient did not exceed 450 pounds, which is the value of the contribution prescribed for the beneficiaries of the comprehensive health insurance system, explaining that this reflects the essence of the system based on providing high -quality medical services at an appropriate cost for all citizens, especially the first categories of care.
He stressed that the authority is continuing to implement its vision towards comprehensive health coverage that guarantees efficiency, justice and sustainability, through a continuous investment in infrastructure, cadres and technology, in a way that contributes to the consolidation of the concept of quality in providing medical service, and achieving the highest rates of beneficiaries.
The authority added that this surgery is the second of its kind, which is successfully carried out within the medical complex, which confirms its readiness to perform more corneal transplants during the next stage, in light of the presence of a qualified and trained medical team at the highest level.
The accurate operation was performed by a distinguished elite of medical cadres, and they are: Prof. Dr. Osama Mohiuddin Al -Nahrawi, Consultant of Ophthalmology, and with the participation of: Dr. Mona Mohamed Omar, Ophthalmologist, Head of the Odrum Department, Dr. Sarah Muhammad Tariq, a resident doctor.
The anesthesia team also participated in high skill: Dr. Abdel Rahman Al -Sayed Abdel Moneim, Dr. Nahir Ahmed Fouad, and with the help of the nursing team: a. Nahla Mansour Jumaa, a. The sky of Muhammad Naji, a. Hasna Hassan Mahmoud.
