FIFA announced the introduction of a group of technical innovations in the 2025 Club World Cup, which will be held this month in the United States of America, with the aim of improving the accuracy of arbitration and developing the experience of fans inside and outside the stadiums.
Technology advanced infiltration with artificial intelligence
At the top of these innovations, FIFA revealed an advanced version of the semi -automated infiltration system, dependent on artificial intelligence to accelerate the decision -making process in controversial cases. This system was successful for the first time in the World Cup Qatar 2022, through a mixture of specialized cameras and a sensor inside the ball that sends 500 data signals per second.
As for the World Cup for the current clubs, the performance of the technology will be improved through machine learning techniques, allowing referees to obtain accurate decisions within a few seconds without disrupting the course of the game.
Visual arbitration reviews for the public
In a precedent, the first of its kind, FIFA announced that the fans present inside the stadiums will be able to watch the arbitration footage reviewed by the referee via the giant screen, in conjunction with their display inside the video room. This approach aims to enhance transparency and explain the arbitration decisions directly for the masses.
Cameras on the bodies of the rulers
Among the unique experiences in this tournament, FIFA revealed the installation of cameras on the bodies of the referees as part of the live broadcast of matches. Al -Ittihad explained that the aim of this experience is to “improve the experience of television viewing” by displaying footage from the point of view of seeing the referee itself, which gives the audience a new and unique experience to follow the course of the game.
Mark devices instead of paper
In order to develop administrative aspects as well, team officials will use electronic tablets to implement switching procedures, instead of the usual paper system. This comes to simplify and document the change process, and ensure their accuracy and speed during the matches.
