Saudi Arabia highlighted its use is a huge air conditioning system to cool the Great Mosque, which is the largest globally, to face temperatures exceeding 47 degrees Celsius.
It has also adopted strict preventive measures, including advanced techniques for crowd management such as air control aircraft and artificial intelligence systems to instantaneously analyze densities.
Smart watches were distributed to pilgrims to monitor vital indicators and alert any healthy emergency.
Time described these changes as “historical modifications” that reflected a qualitative shift in dealing with health and logistical challenges.
