The specialized agencies in Safaga in the Red Sea decided to imprison a young man for 4 days pending investigations into the incident of killing his friend and throwing his body on the street to hide his crime, after an argument on a cigarette box.
Details of the incident
The security services in the city of Safaga, in the Red Sea Governorate, revealed the circumstances of the murder of a young man whose body was found drowned in his blood in one of the city’s streets, and it was found that disagreement and argument over a cigarette box developed into a murder, which resulted in the death of a 28 -year -old man.
Initial investigations indicated that the victim was accompanied by one of his friends inside an apartment and while they were, a box of cigarettes disappeared, which sparked a verbal argument between the two parties.
The accused, Ali, was unemployed, on the victim, “Sayyid”, by beating using an iron chain, and then restricted him, which led to his death due to his injuries.
After the victim was killed, the defendant disposed of the body by throwing it in a street in Safaga to hide his crime, as the families found it, thinking that he was a victim of a traffic accident, and informed the security authorities.
Immediately, Major General Hassan Abdulaziz, Director of the Red Sea Security, directed the formation of a research team from the officers of the Safaga Police Department and the intensification of research and investigation efforts, and a criminal investigation team was formed led by the Safaga Investigation, which was able to review the surveillance cameras, hear the statements of witnesses, and collect information from identifying the body and the perpetrator of the crime.
Hours after the communication, the security services succeeded in arresting the accused, who confessed in detail to commit the incident and its circumstances, and a report of the incident was edited.
The victim’s body was deposited on the hospital’s morgue, while the security services continue to complete the necessary legal procedures in the crime.
