Bahrain and Russia signs an agreement to enhance customs cooperation and facilitate bilateral trade

Within the work of the International Conference of Economy held in the city of Saint Petersburg, the Federal Republic of Russia, Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa, President of Customs, and Tatiana Mercoshva, Deputy Director General of the Russian Federal Customs Department, signed a mutual administrative cooperation agreement in customs issues between the government of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Russian Federal Government.

On this occasion, the President of the Customs stressed that the agreement represents a strategic step to enhance and modernize customs work systems, in line with the Strategic Plan for Customs Affairs 2024-2027, and within the framework of international trends to enhance customs partnerships.

The agreement aims to consolidate the bonds of cooperation between the customs of the customs in the two countries, by exchanging information and expertise related to the relevant goods and bodies, which contributes to supporting intra -trade, facilitating the movement of goods, and simplifying customs procedures, in addition to enhancing border security and combating smuggling, in light of the growing challenges facing global supply chains.

This step comes in the context of the efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain to enhance its international relations, and support the business environment and investment through customs partnerships based on exchanging knowledge and raising the efficiency of customs performance.
