Cairo International Airport witnessed an emergency landing of a Saudi Airlines plane that was on its way from Jeddah to London, after the cabin manager was subjected to a sudden heart attack that led to his death during the flight.
According to shipping and security sources, the control tower received at Cairo Airport from the pilot of the plane stating an emergency, which necessitated the change of the flight and landing path at the nearest airport to take the necessary measures.
Saudi Airlines stated in an official statement via the “X” platform that the director of the cabin, Mohsen bin Saeed Al -Zahrani, died after a sudden health exhibitor while performing his work on the plane, expressing her warm condolences to his family and calling for mercy and forgiveness.
The second pilot managed to manage the flight and implement a safe landing at Cairo Airport, where a medical team rose to the plane to ensure the situation, to discover that Al -Zahrani had died before landing.
The body was transferred to a nearby hospital, while the Egyptian Public Prosecution began an investigation into the circumstances of the death to exclude any criminal suspicion.
The plane resumed its flight to London after completing the legal and health procedures, without disclosing additional details about the cause of death or the identity of the deceased in the official data so far.
The incidents of the emergency decline due to urgent health cases are rare, but they are not unprecedented. In June 2024, Jeddah International Airport witnessed an emergency landing of an Egyptian plane belonging to the company “Sky Vision” after the death of its leader, Captain Hassan Youssef Adas, following a sudden heart attack during a trip from Cairo to Taif.
