The Matrouh Security Directorate received a signal, finding 10 bodies dumped on the beach.
Medical sources confirmed to Cairo 24, that among the victims is a Libyan citizen and another Sudanese, adding that the other eight bodies belong to Egyptian citizens from Assiut Governorate, and all bodies were transferred to Matrouh General Hospital.

He stressed that the boat, which was carrying these immigrants, started from one of the beaches in eastern Libya, and it is known for the activity of human smugglers and the large number of drowning incidents due to the use of dilapidated boats that are not suitable for sailing for long distances.
The incident was placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecution, which started investigations, to determine the circumstances of the accident and determine the identities of the victims accurately.
