Officials said that the Trump administration temporarily suspended the new visa interviews for foreign students who hope to study in the United States, as it is ready to expand the scope of auditing their activities on social media.
Students all over the world were awaiting the reopening of American consulates for visa interview dates, with the restless time to book travel and housing arrangement before the start of the school year.
Student visas are among the most prominent contentious files that have witnessed the Trump administration period, as thousands of visas were canceled, and attempts were taken to prevent major universities such as Harvard from accepting international students.
