The Ukrainian attack on Russia
Days after ambiguity about whether Ukraine will attend or not, President Voludimir Zellinski announced that Defense Secretary Rustom Ouerov will meet Russian officials, and the first round of the talks more than a week ago resulted in the largest prisoner exchange in the war, but it did not show any indications of consensus on stopping the fighting.
The two parties in Türkiye will present their documents that include their vision of the conditions of peace, according to the American envoy Keith Kelog, but the gap is still large between Moscow and Kiev three years after the comprehensive Russian attack on Ukraine began.
The Russian agency TASS quoted the chief Russian negotiator, Presidential Adviser Vladimir Midinski, as saying that the Russian side received a memorandum from Ukraine on the settlement of the conflict, and Zelinski had complained for several days that Russia had not made a note.
On the same side, Ukraine announced on Sunday that it had destroyed Russian bombers worth billions of dollars in Siberia, in the largest air attack that it was implemented since the war began.
Kiev said that she had damaged Russian aircraft worth $ 7 billion, which were stationed in four air bases located thousands of kilometers away, in an unprecedented attack, with unconfirmed clips circulating showing burning planes and black smoke escalated, and a source in the Ukrainian security apparatus said that the strikes targeted 41 aircraft that were used to bomb Ukrainian villages.
Russian and Ukrainian media reported that Ukraine carried out the operation by launching drones from trucks parked near the military bases inside the depth of Russian territory, and Ukrainian officials said the process that carried the symbolic name the web network was under preparation more than 18 months ago.
Zelinski praised the attacks and described it as a brilliant operation targeting only military facilities, and caused great losses in Russia, stressing that the participants in the operation left Russia before the implementation of the strikes while they were in safety, while Russia announced that several participants in the attack had been arrested.
In a related context, Russian investigators said that explosions had caused the collapse of two bridges in the Kursk and Bransk border areas at night, which led to trains out of their path, the killing of at least seven people and the injury of dozens.
The authorities are dealing with the two incidents as terrorist acts. In Breansk, which borders Ukraine, a road bridge collapsed on a railway on Saturday evening, causing a passenger train to go to Moscow from its path and the death of at least seven people.
As for the neighboring corks, the railway bridge collapsed at night and led to a shipping train from its path and the injury of its driver, and the railway path was damaged on the UNisha-Jaysh line in the Breansk area without any injuries, according to the Russian rail company.
For its part, the Russian Ministry of Defense said that its forces fired a missile at a military tents camp in the Dniprobrofovs region in central Ukraine.
