The American “CBS” network quoted a “senior security official” and another in the Pentagon that President Donald Trump had postponed the strike against Iran.
The network added that Trump stipulated that Iran give up its nuclear program, in order for the United States to stop plans to attack it.
The network indicated that the envoy Steve Witkeov continued to contact Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqji in recent days, even when Trump was considering attacking Iran.
Earlier in the day, the Wall Street Journal reported that Trump agreed to the plans of attacking Iran.

Trump said in an interview with the American “Axios” website that he believed that the extensive Israeli strike against Iran may enhance the chances of reaching a nuclear agreement between Washington and Tehran.
Trump pointed out that the war that Israel started may weaken the Iranian position and push it to return to the negotiating table, although the general circumstances do not seem to be prepared for nuclear diplomacy.
When asked whether the Israeli strike is obstructing his diplomatic endeavors with Iran, Trump replied, “I do not think that, but perhaps the opposite; perhaps now they will take negotiations seriously.”
