This luxurious Qur’an is characterized by a dark brown cover, decorated with gilded vegetable motifs that indicate the accuracy of the craft and luxury of design.
This valuable work is highlighted by the skill of calligrapher Abdel -Wahab Ahmed Dhunni, one of the most prominent calligraphers of his time, which was known for its ultimate accuracy in copying and its decoration of religious texts in a high artistic style.
The display of this Qur’an in the manuscripts hall at the Al -Manil Palace Museum comes within the framework of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities to highlight the treasures of Islamic heritage, and to provide visitors with the opportunity to discover the unique beauty of rare Islamic manuscripts, which represents an important aspect of the cultural and religious identity of Egypt.
The Manial Palace itself is a unique architectural masterpiece, built by Prince Muhammad Ali Tawfiq at the beginning of the twentieth century, and includes valuable holdings, including Qur’ans, carpets, ceramics, and rare royal furniture, which makes it an important destination for lovers of art, history and Islamic heritage.
