The authorities at Yamagata Airport, north of Japan, announced that they are facing a “stalemate” with a black bear seen wandering on the airport runway, forcing air traffic monitors to cancel at least 12 flights, after several attempts to expel him from the place failed.
Repeated appearance and stop trips
The bear was seen for the first time early Thursday morning, and the authorities immediately stopped the take -off and landing operations, which resulted in delaying flights. Hours later, he returned to appear again before midday, prompting the authorities to hang the flights again.
Uncomfortable chases
Airport shots of the airport car tried to chase the bear from the runway using bright blue lights, but he fled quickly, is believed to be still inside the airport.
“In light of the current situation, we cannot allow any plane to land,” Akira Nagai, an airport official, told AFP.

Fishermen were called to the site to try to set up a trap to hunt the bear, and the police cordoned off the airport to prevent the animal from fleeing.
