12 people died yesterday evening, Wednesday, in the Mexican state of “Guuanjoato”, when gunmen opened fire on a ceremonial gathering in the city of “Iproato”.
“The number of victims has risen to 12, while about 20 others were injured.
President Claudia Shinbom expressed regret of the attack, noting that the authorities had opened an investigation into the accident.
Last month, seven people were killed in a shooting that also targeted a concert in the town of “San Bartolo de Piper”, which is located in the state of “Guanakhouato”.
The state of “Guangato” is one of the main manufacturing centers and a production site for many major auto manufacturers in the world, and the organized crime groups are struggling to control the state.
According to official statistics, 1435 murders were recorded in the state during the first five months of this year, which is more than twice any other Mexican state.
