Trump and displacement

Saturday 17/2025 – 12:57 am

Trump and the displacement .. Words leading international search engines, newspapers and international news agencies since the start of US President Trump’s new state, as Trump began from his early days as head of the White House to announce plans to displace the Palestinians from Gaza to outside, starting from the presentation to Egypt and Jordan, and after the categorical rejection of the Egyptian state was presented to Sudan, then African and other Asian countries, and with the Palestinian position, the dream of the American president was dissipated, but a network came out to us, but a network came out to us US NBC News a little while ago by announcing the Trump administration plans to displace a million Palestinians to Libya, in a sudden development.

The American NBC News network revealed serious discussions within the administration of US President Donald Trump, aimed at transferring up to one million Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to Libya permanently, as part of a vision of the reconstruction of the sector under the so -called Riviera Middle East project.

Trump’s plan to transfer a million Palestinians to Libya

According to the network report, the plan was discussed with Libyan leaders, and is based on a clear political barter: resettlement of the Palestinians in Libya for the launch of billions of dollars from the Libyan money frozen in the United States since the fall of Muammar Gaddafi’s regime in 2011.

Although the plan was not officially concluded, three well -informed sources, including a former American official, confirmed that Israel was informed of the talks, but there was no official comment from the US State Department or the National Security Council, and the Israeli government also declined to declare.

The Hamas movement denied its knowledge of any arrangements of this kind, as the leader of the name of Naim told NBC that the Palestinians are rooted in their homeland, and are ready to sacrifice for it, stressing that the Palestinian people alone have the right to self -determination, and not any external party.

On the Libyan side, there was no official comment from the government of Abdul Hamid Dabba or the forces of Khalifa Haftar, and this comes in light of the fragile internal conditions that Libya suffers from, as two governments are fighting against power amid security escape and institutional collapse.

The plan raises complex logistical and security questions. According to the US NBC News report, a million people were transferred from Gaza to Libya that requires complex and expensive naval, air, air, and ground operations, only from an air side, it takes more than 1170 flights on board the A380 plane – the largest passenger plane in the world – with no airport inside Gaza.

According to the CIA estimates, the population of Libya is about 7.36 million people, and if a million Palestinians are localized, this is equivalent to the population impact, similar to the addition of 46 million people to the population of the United States at once.

From Emiratization to political escalation

Interestingly, this plan was not among the provisions of official international negotiations, but rather came as part of a personal vision of President Trump, who in February 2024 expressed his desire to seize Gaza and turn it into an economic and tourist destination, but he considered at the same time that it could not be lived in, calling for the search for permanent alternatives to settle its residents in a place to make them happy.

Trump’s comments came during a meeting at the White House with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who had not issued any public response, despite the escalation of tension at the time and Trump due to the position on the war on Gaza.

This idea – even before its official announcement, has sparked sharp criticism from American and Arab political circles. Republican Senator Lindsay Graham, known for his proximity to Trump, expressed his skepticism, saying: This will be problematic at several levels.

The ideas of the previous American administration did not stop at Libya, as the report refers to discussions within the Trump administration about the possibility of using Syria as a resettlement site, after what was said to be the overthrow of Bashar al -Assad and Ahmed Al -Sharaa assumed the presidency in Damascus – a development that has not been confirmed by any independent sources yet.

The Trump administration is studying several sites for resettling Palestinians residing in Gaza, according to a senior administration official, a former American official familiar with the discussions, and one of the people who have direct knowledge of efforts.

The possibility of converting Syria is being discussed, under the leadership of its new leadership after the overthrow of Bashar al -Assad in December to a possible site for resettlement of the Palestinians currently residing in Gaza, according to one of the people who have direct knowledge of the efforts made and a former US official familiar with the discussions.

The Trump administration has taken steps towards restoring diplomatic relations with Syria, after Trump announced on Tuesday that the United States will lift the sanctions on Syria, and briefly met with the new Syrian President, Ahmed Al -Shara, on Wednesday.

Egypt stands against the displacement

In a previous statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Arab Republic of Egypt warned of the repercussions of statements issued on the implementation of a plan to displace the Palestinian people from their land, and in a way that is a blatant and blatant violation of international law and international humanitarian law and for the simplest rights of the Palestinian citizen, and calls for accountability.

The Arab Republic of Egypt stressed in a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, that it completely rejects any proposal or vision aimed at liquidating the Palestinian issue by extracting and displacing the Palestinian people from its historical land, whether in a phased or final way, warning of the repercussions of those ideas that are unfair and transgressing the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, and Egypt will not be a party to it.

In its position against the displacement, Egypt put a full -wing vision for the reconstruction of Gaza and the development of the Strip again, after the humanitarian catastrophe that befell the Strip after the events of October 7, 2023.

The Egyptian vision for reconstruction was inspired by the experiences of the reconstruction of three cities in the world, starting from Hiroshima, Berlin and Beirut, after studying cases of urban rehabilitation of these cities after the devastating wars that afflicted them.

Egypt announced the plan, during the Arab Summit that was held to refuse to displace the Palestinians from their lands under any image or by any name, whether voluntary or forced displacement. In the end, it is a displacement, and an Egyptian plan prepared by Egypt with Palestine has become an Arab plan that is fully supportive of the Arab countries and the nation.

Egypt’s plan obtained the approval and support of the Arab and Islamic countries, the European Union, Russia, and other countries, while last March the United States and Israel rejected an Egyptian proposal to rebuild Gaza without transferring its residents.
