The White House announced today, Thursday, that Israel gave its approval to an American ceasefire plan in the Gaza Strip, at a time when the talks are still ongoing with Hamas on the details of the agreement.
US presidential spokeswoman, Caroline Levitte, said during a press conference held at the White House, that the American delegate Steve Witkeov and Donald Trump had made an official proposal for Hamas on the ceasefire, explaining that Israel signed the proposal and expressed its support for him before sending him to Hamas.
Levitt confirmed that negotiations are still in place, and that Washington is following developments with the parties concerned.
According to the text of the proposed agreement, which was shown on the Israeli side last night, the first stage stipulates a 60 -day ceasefire, interspersed with the implementation of humanitarian measures that include the release of nine neighborhood prisoners, and the delivery of the bodies of 18 people, in two phases within one week.
