The statements come hours after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that Tel Abi plans to “completely control the Gaza Strip” with the resumption of delivery of aid “minimal” to the Strip, and describing the possible collective famine in Gaza as a “red line” that may cost Israel to support it from the United States.
In a video clip posted on social media, Netanyahu said that while Israel is publishing “a tremendous force to completely control the Gaza Strip, we cannot reach the point of starvation, for practical and diplomatic reasons.”
Netanyahu added that “the closest friends of Israel in the world”, including American politicians whose names have not been mentioned, confirmed that they were “fixed supporters of Israel for decades”, they told him that they would armed Israel and defend it in the United Nations Security Council, but they could not deal with pictures of collective famine. “
This speech was the first time that Israel has recognized that hunger in Gaza is close to the point of the crisis, despite the repeated warnings from global hunger experts that the sector is close to starvation, but the Palestinians in Gaza say that they are afraid that the amount of limited aid they promised will not be sufficient to alleviate the humanitarian crisis that they are trying to survive.
Israel stopped the introduction of aid, medicines, fuel and food to Gaza on the second of March, in the longest siege imposed on humanitarian supplies to Gaza since the beginning of the war.
This, and the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs stated on Monday that the Israeli authorities had contacted him to resume the provision of limited aid “and that discussions are ongoing on how to resume aid under the circumstances on the ground.
