On Tuesday, the United States occurred to travel to Italy, while urged visitors to the country to “be cautiously cautious because of terrorism.”
The US State Department raised the warning level to the “second level”, calling on American citizens to make more caution when traveling to Italy, due to “increasing risks related to terrorism,” according to the warning text.
Italy was previously classified among the countries where it is advised to take “regular precautions”, a classification that most European destinations shared. However, the escalation of “terrorist” threats prompted the American authorities to include them in the list of countries that require “increased caution.”
The warning indicates that terrorist attacks may occur suddenly and without warning, targeting vital places, including tourist sites, transportation centers, markets, hotels, restaurants, government institutions, and places of worship, as well as sports and cultural gatherings.
The US State Department recommends that it is permanently vigilant, followed up by local news, as well as registration in the “Smart Traveler” program to receive alerts from the American embassy. She also invited them to prepare alternative plans in anticipation of any emergency that might happen during the trip.
It is noteworthy that other European countries, such as France, Germany, Spain, and the United Kingdom, are in turn to a warning of the same level.
