The head of the media committee for the second health conference for people with disabilities, Zainab Al -Tajer, noted that the number of participants in the conference exceeded the 270 participants, specialists, consultants and individuals with disabilities and their families.
She said that the conference, which came under the slogan: “The comprehensive health of people with disabilities is all our responsibility.” He sought to shed light on the most prominent health challenges facing people with disabilities in the Kingdom of Bahrain, with a focus on exchanging scientific experiences and best field practices, in a way that enhances the quality of health care, and contributes to achieving the highest levels of independence and societal integration, noting that the conference included a group of speakers and experts in various health specialties And social.
The conference’s outputs included: Providing practical recommendations that can be implemented to develop medical and rehabilitation services for people with disabilities, launching qualitative initiatives, such as the project “Recycling of Devices and Chairs”, and awareness programs with rheumatic diseases, and audio rehabilitation, preparing a comprehensive awareness guide for people with disabilities and their families, dealing with preventive, treatment and health rights aspects, emphasizing the integration of auxiliary technology in curricula Educational and rehabilitation programs, the call to launch continuous training programs for workers in the health sector to enhance their capabilities in dealing with various types of disabilities, enhancing partnerships between official authorities and community institutions to support awareness, qualification and integration.
She indicated that the participants stressed the necessity: enhancing early detection and preventive care of skin and rheumatic diseases to avoid chronic disabilities, insert audio rehabilitation programs within the care plans after major surgeries, adopt a comprehensive multi -axis assessment of mental disabilities, includes psychological, behavioral and environmental aspects, activating the use of auxiliary tools and modern technologies to support independence and community integration, raising societal awareness of the rights Disability, especially with regard to obtaining specialized and equal health care.
At the conclusion of the conference, the merchant indicated that achieving comprehensive health for people with disabilities is a common national responsibility, which requires concerted efforts between the various health, social and educational sectors, and the enactment of legislation and policies that guarantee health and human rights for this generous group.
