US President Donald Trump, President of South Africa, surprised Cyril Ramafuza at the Oval Office with evidence of what he considered a genocide against eggs in South Africa that include videos and pictures.
During the meeting of the two parties in front of the media, Trump faced Ramafuza with exciting videos and news articles he said was evidence of “genocide” against eggs in South Africa.
The meeting in the Oval Office was largely calm and full of mutual compliments between Trump and Ramafuza, until the American President was asked about what it required until he is convinced that there is no “genocide”.
Here, Trump directed his employees to play a video clip, which included footage of Julius Malima, the leader of the “Fighters for Economic Freedom” party, making statements supporting American accusations that white farmers were exposed to genocide.
After the video ended, Ramavusa told Trump that Malima, despite being a member of his country’s parliament, does not have any authority and does not form part of the government.
Ramavusa said: “We have a multi -party democracy in South Africa that allow people to express themselves, and allow political parties to follow different policies, and in many cases, or in some cases, these policies are not in line with government policy, our government’s policy is completely opposed to what he was saying, even in Parliament, a small minority party that is allowed to exist under our constitution.”
He continued: “Do you know the President where he took this video? Because I did not see him before,” Trump replied, “I don’t know.”
During the display of the videos, the President of South Africa and his companions were smiling from time to time.
The meeting between Trump and Ramafuza, which was arranged at the request of the South African government, came months after the tensions between Washington and Bretoria regarding a controversial law that allows land confiscation without compensation in some limited cases.
Trump claims that the eggs in South Africa are victims of “genocide”, and he has repeatedly cited the Land confiscation law, as it compared the efforts of the South African government to address ethnic outbreaks after the racist separation system with “discrimination against eggs”.
South African officials accused the US administration using allegations of African whites to undermine the country’s issue against Israel in the International Court of Justice.
The African whites, the descendants of the Europeans who have arrived in the country for centuries, claim that they were deprived of jobs and have become targets of violence because of their race, which are allegations that have escalated after new legislation regulating the confiscation of property.
Online information was promoted for the idea of dozens of daily murders against white farmers.
But estimates indicate that only about 50 farmers, from all races, are killed annually in a country where more than 19,000 murders between January and September 2024 were recorded.
According to this information, Trump announced in February that he will stop the funding provided to South Africa, which most of which goes to anti -HIV -AIDS efforts because the government “confiscates lands” and “dealing with certain groups of people very badly.”
He also threatened to boycott the G20 leaders summit, which is to be hosted by South Africa in Johannesburg next November.
